The city of
Trogir is situated in the middle part of the Dalmatian coastline, in the administrative region of
Split city. It lies on a small island connected both with mainland and the island of
Ciovo.
Ciovo island has been populated even in prehistorical times. It's antic name
Boa has a Iliric heritage. Ciovo today is made of few villages:
Slatina, Arbanija, Zedno, Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji.

There is more than
twenty old churches preserved on Ciovo today, the oldest of which is a preromanic Church of Blessed Marry. On the southeast side of the island is the Church of Prizidinice with hermit buildings.
